Goal: Analyze participation data collected from club rosters to determine how well students are represented across the program and discuss ways to address disproportionately low participation if it appears for any group.

Goal: 

• Freshman Senate will take on a leadership role in promoting belonging at Northfield.  
• Student Council will continue partnering on the monthly observance and have at least one Lunch and Learn per semester and a display each quarter. 
• Class Period Clubs at Winnetka will examine whether the demographics of their club members matches our overall student demographics.

Status: On-Going 

Goal:  Student Council will form a monthly observance subcommittee with equity chair positions  to prepare materials, displays, and activities to support the monthly observances on both campuses.

Goal: We have asked sponsors to consider these questions:

• Who comes to your club? Who doesn’t?
• What can we do to better understand why?
• What is lost if we don’t have this conversation?

Status:  On-Going

Goal: We concentrated on access to clubs for all students. Our focus was on keeping the program running during the pandemic. We are hopeful that this year offers more opportunities for us to continue collaboration with our sponsors in our strategic planning goals.

Status: Completed

Goals: We will collaborate with other extracurricular activities leaders within New Trier and in the Chicago area to determine if there are areas of commonality to explore. We will also meet with our club sponsors to discuss our work in this area and gather their ideas for how to proceed.

We will meet with sponsors to explore our current process and assumptions for club recruitment.  We want to challenge our sponsors to consider which students join their club, who do not, and what patterns they may see that could be interrupted.  Does every student feel that they belong in every club?
