The dress traditions for this event have been shaped by students. Juniors and seniors often wear group-themed costumes, while sophomores typically choose semi-formal attire. However, it is entirely up to each student to wear what they feel is comfortable and appropriate.

Safety Precautions and Appropriate Behavior
At dances and other social events, New Trier’s priority is to provide a fun and safe environment for our students. We greet students as they arrive and work with the NTPA chaperones to ensure everyone enjoys the dance in a healthy and positive way. New Trier supervisors may require random students to take a breathalyzer test; bags and vehicles may also be searched. Students will not be allowed to remain in cars, buses, or limousines instead of entering the dance.
Parent Support: As our students prepare for this event, it is important for parents to be involved in the planning. Your guidance is crucial in helping ensure that students engage in safe and appropriate behavior.
We encourage parents to connect with other parents regarding Homecoming-related plans and discuss any guidelines or questions you might have about the evening.
As with all school events, the use of alcohol, tobacco, nicotine, vaping products, and other prohibited substances (as defined in the Student Guidebook) is strictly prohibited and will result in consequences. Additionally, all students attending the Homecoming Dance are expected to adhere to all school policies and rules.
We appreciate your support in helping our students set expectations and parameters for an enjoyable and safe Homecoming.

Homecoming Events
The annual Homecoming Night Rally is Thursday, September 19 from 7:00 - 8:00 pm in the Main Gym at the Winnetka Campus. The Night Rally is a Trevian tradition for New Trier students only, where ALL FOUR classes come together to celebrate school spirit and Trevian pride. Students will be seated in the bleachers by grade level.
Throughout the week, there are several athletic events for students to attend. Check the Athletic schedule for a complete list.
If you have any questions about these events, please contact your student’s adviser or the Activities Coordinator, Stacy Kolack, at kolacks@nths.net, or visit the Homecoming Dance Webpage. This information has also been shared with students through their adviser room and Canvas.
