Our 42nd Annual Frank Mantooth Jazz Festival at New Trier High School will take place on Saturday, Feb 8, 2025, and will feature a very special project we're calling "The Chicago Neighborhood Suite" performed by a custom-built ensemble of Chicago's very finest jazz artists. This new piece, commissioned by our festival and arranged by Joe Clark, will feature tunes by 8-10 prominent Chicago jazz artists whose compositions reflect or connect to a specific place in Chicago. Joe is taking these compositions and creating a new work for big band. As we know, Chicago is a city of neighborhoods with an incredible diversity of cultures and musical styles. It's time for our festival to again feature the world-class talent of our Chicago jazz community, and we hope you'll be there with us!
The daytime portion of our festival will continue to feature our wonderful participating schools performing for and working with amazing clinicians from around the country, master classes, a student jam session, special interest clinics, and additional performances by Chicago-area artists.
