We are excited to offer registration for the 2025 Applied Arts outreach camps. This summer, we will offer two exciting camps:
- Rising 8th Grade: Collaborative Problem-Solving Camp
- Rising Combined 5th-8th Grade: STEM Camp
We welcome you to the 12th Annual New Trier Engineering STEM Summer Camp! At camp, it is our mission to enthusiastically lead activities that engage campers in hands-on activities, friendly competitions, and exciting creative thinking-building challenges. Each year, we introduce different problem-solving challenges designed to have fun and survey various engineering fields. We strive to create a positive "camp" atmosphere where campers learn by doing and discover the joy in learning. Our goal is to provide an environment where campers develop curiosity, enhance problem-solving skills, and explore various architecture and engineering fields. By immersing your children in these experiences, they’ll see themselves as the future engineers and architects of tomorrow. Guided by current and former New Trier students, our camps offer a hands-on, joyful learning experience that inspires campers throughout their journey.
Each camp will run daily from 9 am to 3 pm, providing a comprehensive and immersive experience in STEM based on the foundation of summer camp fun and the joy of learning.

2024 Camp Highlights:
This past summer, our 11th Annual Applied Arts STEM Camp was a ton of fun, buzzing with the energy of over 100 enthusiastic campers and guided by 25 amazing New Trier student counselors. Here are some of the fantastic challenges they tackled:
- Designing a habitat for Mars with a filtration system and oxygen release mechanism.
- Building a solar-powered marshmallow cooker (yum!).
- Creating a water level security sensor to combat flooding.
- Constructing a Rube Goldberg machine with pulleys, conveyor belts, hydraulics, and a roller coaster.
- Crafting fun greeting cards with micro motors and LEDs.
- Launching water rockets.
- Participating in soldering challenges.
- Extracting DNA and creating "elephant toothpaste."
2024 Collaborative Problem-Solving Camp Highlights:
In our first-ever camp exclusively for 8th graders, campers engaged in team-based engineering and architectural challenges, mentored by New Trier students. From theme park designs to mousetrap vehicle egg drop safety challenges, our campers embraced the spirit of innovation and teamwork. This sold-out experience was a blast for everyone involved!
