Ramblers win neighborhood battle

The Trevians couldn't overcome playing shorthanded and a tough Loyola defense, losing 9-5. 

The Ramblers took a 4-2 lead after the first quarter, but a yellow card gave Loyola a man up situation and they capitalized making it 5-2. The Trevian defense shut down the Ramblers for the next 11 minutes and Ellie Bornhoeft scored to make it 5-3. 

Unfortunately, Bornhoeft got her second yellow card and the Ramblers again capitalized with 22 seconds left in the half to make it 6-3 at at half.

In the third quarter, Holly Smith and Avery Anderson stepped up on the draw circle and on attack, both scoring to make it 6-5 with 7:38 left in third. The defense also made several big plays, including some great saves by Meg Gallagher, who kept the Trevians in the game, and held a talented Loyola offense scoreless for over 10 minutes. But another yellow card gave Loyola a man up situation and the scored to make it 8-5 end of the third. 

In the fourth, both teams played solid defense, even though the attack had some solid looks they were unable to capitalize. 

Gallagher finished with a career high 15 saves in goal. Claire Ratke had a goal and assist. Anderson had two goals.
